The New Zealand Cosmetic Teeth Whitening Association [NZCTWA] is a Ministry Of Health (MOH) recognised Self - Regulating trade group devoted to protecting public safety by ensuring teeth whitening practitioners are professionally trained, Certified and regulated

 It is a non-profit Association

 Dealing with an NZCTWA Registered Teeth Whitening Practitioner displaying NZCTWA Certification is the public assurance that they are dealing with a trained, qualified, and safe Cosmetic Teeth Whitening Practitioner or vendor who takes pride in the quality of their service and care

PUBLIC SAFETY STANDARDS

Since the global introduction of modern eco friendly cosmetic strength gels, millions of clients have undergone some form of teeth whitening. Numerous studies show that cosmetic strength peroxide based teeth whitening systems do not harm teeth enamel

In fact, amoungst many scientific studies, one significant study conducted by the Eastman Institute for Oral Health, a world leader in research and post-doctoral education in general and pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery found in a 2009 clinical study that modern cosmetic strength whitening gels as used by NZCTWA members, to be safer than drinking orange juice

Moreover, most people with normal healthy teeth receiving a cosmetic teeth whitening treatment meeting the new Safety Standards* of the NZ Governments Environmental Risk Management Authority [ERMA] will experience little or no sensitivity, or gum irritation during a modern cosmetic procedure preformed by our members

In addition, to protect public safety in New Zealand, the NZCTWA has as Code of Conduct & Practice that sets very high standards for its members in terms the supply of Teeth Whitening Products and Services. The NZCTWA also provides world-class professional training and practitioner certification as well as hygiene & cross infection standards for its members

In New Zealand, the NZ Governments Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) (formerly ERMA) has established Public Safety Standards for the Cosmetic Teeth Whitening products suppliers and practitioners of our industry
